Maxwell performed live at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on October 9, 2008. New York City streets and subways were all a buzz with Maxwell fans making their way to the long awaited concert. Maxwell recently appeared on BET's 106 & Park and announced that he was embarking on a 25 city tour. Maxwell has also partnered with BET for this tour. While he has began his tour in Bloemfontein, South Africa. Maxwell hasn't released his latest effort titled "Black Summers Night" a three set trilogy he is selling out venues like nobody’s business right now.

Once everyone began to enter Radio City Hall’s you would have thought it was an evening for some type of musical awards show. Rapper/Actor  Ice-T and his spouse were even in the house that evening to see Maxwell. Maxwell fans had begun to kickoff their prelude to the concert prior to the main event. Better known as the infamous Maxwell Fan Forum decided to get together the night before for dinner to celebrate Maxwell’s return and a little surprise for the soul crooner he didn't see coming. I will get back to this bold group of ladies later.

As the lights go down and the venue is filled to the brim with excitement for what we had awaited seven long years to see. Ms. Jazmine Sullivan opens the show with her Lauryn Hill vocals and performed many of her soon to become hits. Let's not get it twisted though she may sound similar to Lauryn Hill but, her lyrics are very diverse and very much her own.

Everyone patiently waited in their seats while the stage hands reconstructed the stage for Maxwell and his band. Some singing their favorite Maxwell song others swapping prior Maxwell concert tales.

We all knew exactly when Maxwell was going to appear because the band was in place and you began to hear them play "Get To Know Ya". Believe me the masses lost their minds and down a steel case of stairs Maxwell appears. Dressed in a grey tailored suit, white open collard shirt and an untied bow tie carefully placed around his neck and black sports shoes. Of course we were sitting third row center of the stage on the mezzanine level. It was the perfect setting to see everything that would take place onstage. Maxwell admitted earlier during the day of his show that he was very nervous and needed to do some meditating.

Trust me whatever he did in his dressing room it certainly worked. All I can say is this brother was ready and the masses responded back to his every innuendo he extended.

According to the ladies he just wreaks of sex appeal. During his song pauses Maxwell would crack jokes with the audience. Performing all of his well known hits such as “Til The Cops Come Knockin”, “Sumthin, Sumthin”, “Lifetime” and more. This time around Maxwell also gave the plus sized sisters a lot of love during this show. He began to sing his rendition of Al Green's, "Simply Beautiful". Maxwell sang a melody of "Cornbread Cornfed" because a plus size sister was screaming at the base of the stage for his attention and she got it. I've never heard anyone make the sound of cornbread ever sound that sexy. A brother sitting next to us stated, "Maxwell got some game I better take notes tonight".  Maxwell had advised everyone prior on BET 106 & Park. To be sure to bring your man and your woman to his shows and go home and have sex afterwards. By now the hormones were certainly flying all over the venue. Not just with the ladies fellas. I saw quite a few fellas hands in some intimate places shall I say.

When Maxwell sang the song "Fortunate" he has a verse that states. "Never had room service so nice", "Never took a trip first class flight". He would inject that's a lie and that's another lie between verses. Letting his audience know that he has grown up now at the age of 35, and has experienced the better things in life.

Now the band (background singers and all) was on point with every beat and every note in unison with Maxwell. Really stirred things up when the melody "Til The Cops Come Knockin" flowed from the speakers. Maxwell stopped the band and told us "Hold up there are not enough panties on my stage". A surprise to Maxwell and the audience was when the very loyal fan group Maxwell Fan Forum tossed a large white pair of Granny panties that were wrapped around a blue long stemmed rose onstage at his feet.

Singer Maxwell strolled over and gently picked the panties up and opened them up. Wow! They were some huge panties I must admit at least a size 11 in women’s size. Maxwell smiled and stated "Damn girl you sure got some junk in your trunk, but I can handle that too". Ladies in the front row nearly melted like butter at this point. As if Maxwell were speaking to each of them directly. What I would consider an open fantasy to the ladies. He also had taken this song a step further by grinding the stage and sitting on his knees facing the band. Maxwell leaned backwards and used his two fingers in a very enticing way (for the sexually challenged here think oral) enough said on that.

Maxwell also performed three new songs from his upcoming album “Black Summers Night”. He also added a new snippet called "Cold". This was a night to remember!  Maxwell left his mark on the Radio City Music Hall’s famous stage! Outside after the show the masses did not rush to the parking garages or subways to leave. The finale was to wait around and watch for Maxwell to depart the venue in his limo. Even though the tickets are pricey this time around I recommend that everyone attends at least one Maxwell concert. you will certainly get your moneys worth and yearn to see more.
